Fairly clean, true boutique hotel, I thoroughly enjoyed reasonably spacious rooms and courteous staff. The breakfast was hot and lovely with plenty of food and complimentary drinks. The property was in a charming location really close to marina close to shops and restaurants. Moreover, there was a lake within 30 mins walk from the hotel.

Attentive, concientious, polite staff - very refreshing these days. The hotel is situated right on the waterfront overlooking a marina - an excellent location for wandering along the harbour, with plenty of tempting restaurants/bars. It's also only a 15min walk into the town centre.
Noisy guests in the room above - more akin to dancing elephants than guests respecting those around them.

I stayed for two nights at the Salthouse Double Room. The views of the marina were fine. The bed felt cozy, and I appreciated the lovely bath. Service at reception was friendly. I found the mirror inside the wardrobe awkward to access since the armchair blocked it. There were no coat hooks by the door, made hanging wet coats difficult. I booked breakfast, but was charged for it at checkout even though I didn't eat. This made me uncomfortable, as it reminded me of the receptionist doubted my honesty before fixing the bill. While the atmosphere and amenities were nice, these issues was good.

The copper bath was a highlight of our stay. The staff were attentive and.
In my wife's opinion, a wider breakfast menu would be great for families, especially when traveling with kids.

On arrival the staff at the hotel reception were very friendly and I was asked if I would like to up grade my room for an addtional cost. I declined this and I'm glad I did, the view from the hotel room was over the habour which was fabulous. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was large with a separate shower and bath. We booked a meal in the Eaterie which we really enjoyed, the food and staff were excellent. It was our Wedding Anniversary and our stay at the The Salthouse made it feel extra special, I would really recommend it to anyone.

Hotel was fantastic - very modern with lots of quirky bits of furniture, art and other items: Suit of armour with beads & pearls, old sewing machine. Rooms were luxurious - complimentary turn down service at 6pm was good. Very nice toiletries, bathroom and shower in particular was good. Superb coffee tea and biscuits in room which were replenished during turndown service. Bottles of water left on bedside table was nice touch. Ate in restaurant - food was absolutely gorgeous - everything that came out to all the diners looked equally delicious. Breakfast was a yummy feast! We had room overlooking quay - could not fault anything about this hotel. All staff were helpfull and very professional - would definately stay again!
Cant find anything negative to say about this hotel!

The room overlooking the marina was a highlight, with a large, comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom. Dinner and breakfast options were excellent, with a good variety that included fresh cheese bread. Drinks took too long to arrive during our meal, and the check-out process lacked a personal touch, as we weren't asked about our stay.
